About Brooks

Founded in 2008 by registered nurses Lyn Reade (RGN, DN, Cert MSc) and Val Brooks (RGN, BSc Hons. Palliative Care), Brooks Care and Nursing Services was established to address the need for high-quality, community-based care, particularly in end-of-life services. Lyn and Val met at Fair Havens Hospice, where they recognised a gap in comprehensive care for vulnerable individuals in the community.

Since its inception, Brooks Care has grown steadily, expanding its service offerings across Essex. We provide tailored care packages, including respite and night services, and accept referrals from Continuing Healthcare, Social Services, the NHS, and private clients. Our staff undergo rigorous in-house training and are fully DBS checked, ensuring the highest level of care and professionalism.

Brooks Care is proud to be CQC-registered and has consistently met all national care standards. We also achieved Silver status in the Investors in People program in 2015, reflecting our commitment to fostering a positive, supportive work environment. Our open-door policy allows staff to voice concerns directly to senior management, promoting transparency and collaboration.
